Behind the Scenes: Building the Cuentitos App!
Big news—I’m launching a brand-new app for kids on September 1! It’s called Cuentitos, and it’s all about helping children become confident storytellers in English and Spanish.
Here’s how it works: Kids scroll through a list of fun characters, exciting settings, and tricky problems. After making their selections, the app generates a unique story starter to spark their imagination. With over 8,000 possible combinations, the creative possibilities are endless!
But here’s the best part: Cuentitos only begins the story. Kids get to finish it however they want—on paper, out loud, or in their own creative way. It’s a tool that encourages writing, builds bilingual skills, and celebrates each child’s voice.
This project has been a true labor of love. As a former teacher and bilingual children’s author, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful storytelling can be. With Cuentitos, I want to make that power more accessible—whether you’re at home, in the classroom, or anywhere in between.

Detrás de Cámaras: ¡Así Estamos Creando la App Cuentitos!
¡Grandes noticias! El 1 de septiembre lanzaré una nueva app para niños llamada Cuentitos, diseñada para ayudar a los pequeños a convertirse en narradores seguros en inglés y español.
Así funciona: los niños podrán explorar listas de personajes divertidos, escenarios emocionantes y problemas curiosos. Después de hacer sus selecciones, la app generará un inicio de cuento único para darles un impulso creativo. ¡Con más de 8,000 combinaciones posibles, las historias nunca se repiten!
¿Y lo mejor? Cuentitos solo comienza la historia. Los niños la terminan como quieran—escribiendo, dibujando o contando el final con su imaginación. Es una herramienta que inspira la escritura, fortalece el bilingüismo y celebra la voz de cada niño.
Este proyecto ha sido un verdadero trabajo de amor. Como exmaestra y autora bilingüe, he visto lo poderosa que puede ser una historia bien contada. Con Cuentitos, quiero que esa magia esté al alcance de todos—en casa, en la escuela, o donde sea.
