Today, I am breaking my pattern. This morning, I was browsing Barnes & Noble and I found something a little bit different. It was in the children’s section. It had beautiful illustrations and lyrical language, but when I opened it up and read it, it took me on a journey more suited to adults than children.
The Picture Book of the Week is Begin Again: How We Got Here And Where We Might Go–Our Human Story, So Far. The story is written and illustrated by Oliver Jeffers. I have always said picture books are for kids 1 to 100 years old. This particular picture book is a perfect example.
Begin Again reflects on where we come from and where we are going. Did we begin with fire? with our brains? with our hands? What do we want? What do we need? Do we just need each other?

Hoy voy a romper mi patrón. Esta mañana estaba explorando Barnes & Noble y encontre algo un poco diferente. Estaba en la sección infantile. Tenia ilustraciones bellísimas y lenguaje lírico, pero cuando lo abrí y lo lei, me llevo en un viaje mas bien para adultos que para niños.
El libro de cuentos de la semana es Empezar de Nuevo: Como llegamos aquí y a donde prodriamos ir–nuestra historia humana, hasta este punto.El cuento fue escrito e ilustrado por Oliver Jeffers. Yo siempre he dicho que los libros de cuentos son para niños de 1 a 100 años. Este libro en particular es el ejemplo perfecto.
Empezar de Nuevo refleja en cuestiones como de donde vinimos y a done vamos. ¿Empezamos con fuego? ¿con nuestros cerebros? ¿con nuestras manos? ¿Qué es lo que queremos? ¿Qué es lo que necesitamos? ¿Solo necesitamos a nuestro prójimo?
