Are you shy or have you ever felt shy when placed in a new environment?
The Picture Book of the Week is Feliz New Year, Ava Gabriela!, written by Alexandra Alessandri and illustrated by Addy Rivera Sonda.
About the Book:
Feliz New Year, Ava Gabriela! is the story of Ava, a young girl who goes to Colombia with her parents for the first time. Being in a new and unfamiliar situation, surrounded by unfamiliar relatives, makes Ava as shy as mouse. She is eager to participate in family traditions such as eating buñuelos and tamales, and popping the Año Viejo, but she struggles to find her voice in the midst of a noisy, boisterous family.
